Growing up, my dad was a very brilliant and high-functioning individual who found a lot of success at work and within his family, so his struggle with alcohol was easy for him to deny. The alcohol began to take over and when he was ready to fight it, it seemed just too big for him to tackle. He ultimately lost his battle with alcohol at 58 years old and I lost all the important milestones I'm supposed to share with my dad.
Reject the societal norms and pressures that glorify drinking and destructive habits, and instead make room to feed the passions and priorities that lead to a better, more fulfilled life. In unity we find freedom. Win the day, one day at a time!
